Kopy App Review (2026): Pricing, Features, and Who It's Actually For

Kopy is one of the better-known product-copying apps for Shopify. It does one thing well — pull a product from another store or marketplace into yours in a single click — and it has built a real feature around a problem most importers ignore: stopping other people from doing the same thing to you.

This review covers what Kopy actually costs, what you get at each tier, and the situations where it's the right call. Pricing below was checked against kopy.app on 22 July 2026 and moves fairly often, so verify before you commit.

What Kopy does

Kopy copies a product — title, images, description, variants, price, SEO fields — from a source listing into your Shopify store. You paste a URL, review the product, and push it live.

Supported sources are Shopify, AliExpress, CJ Dropshipping, Etsy, Amazon, SHEIN, Alibaba, and Temu. That's eight, and the Shopify-to-Shopify path is the one Kopy is really built around. If your workflow is "find a store that's working, replicate its catalogue," Kopy is designed for exactly that.

On top of the import it layers AI: description rewriting, translation, and AI-generated product pages.

Kopy pricing, tier by tier

Kopy has no free plan. Every path starts with a 3-day trial and then a card.

Basic — $9.99/month. One-click import, editing before import, AI translation, AI description improvement, AI product page generation, and both Protect features are listed on the plan card.

Basic + AI (Essential) — $24.99/month. Described as all Starter features included.

Basic + AI + Protect (Ultimate) — $32.99/month. All Essential features included.

Additional stores are $4.99/month each.

A word of caution: Kopy's own plan descriptions overlap heavily — the same AI and Protect bullets appear on the $9.99 card and on the tiers above it. Third-party sites also quote a different set of numbers ($4.99 / $24.99 / $29.99). Before subscribing, open the pricing page yourself and check which AI limits actually attach to which tier, because the public copy does not make that clear.

Kopy Protect: the genuinely differentiated feature

Most of this category is undifferentiated. Kopy Protect is the exception.

It blocks competitors and spy tools from scraping your store — the same technique Kopy itself enables, pointed defensively. If you've built a store with original photography, custom copy, and a tested offer, watching a competitor clone it in a week is a real cost, and no other app in this comparison ships an answer to it.

Whether that's worth the jump to the Ultimate tier depends on whether you have anything worth stealing. A store selling generic AliExpress products doesn't. A store with a distinctive brand does.

Where Kopy is a good fit

Shopify-to-Shopify cloning. This is Kopy's home turf. Migrating a catalogue between your own stores, or building a store modelled on a proven one, is what it's optimised for.

You want protection and import in one subscription. Buying a scraping-protection tool separately costs more than the gap between Kopy tiers.

You're already paying and it works. There's no compelling reason to migrate away from a tool that fits.

Where Kopy struggles

No free plan. You cannot evaluate Kopy on your own catalogue without a card and a 3-day clock. For a merchant importing twenty products a month, that's a hard sell against tools that let you start at zero.

Entry price is double the category floor. $9.99 is the most expensive entry point among the mainstream importers. Poky charges $2.95 flat; Ecopy starts at $4.99 with a free tier underneath it.

Eight source platforms. Fine for dropshipping from the usual marketplaces, thin if you source from WooCommerce, Walmart, or regional platforms. Poky covers 28+.

Opaque tier boundaries. As noted above, the plan cards don't clearly separate what you get for $9.99 versus $32.99.

Three genuinely different products:

• Poky is the volume-and-breadth play. Cheapest, widest platform coverage, custom scraper builder, no AI page builder. If you just need products moved and you source from unusual places, nothing beats it on price.
• Kopy is import plus defence. You pay a premium for Protect.
• Ecopy is import plus conversion. The free plan means you can test on your own catalogue before paying, and the AI page builder at $4.99 undercuts dedicated page builders like PagePilot by a wide margin.

The honest verdict

Kopy is a competent product with one feature nobody else has. If store protection matters to you, it's the only option in this group and the price is justified.

If it doesn't, you're paying a premium for a commodity import function. Poky does the import for a third of the price across three times as many platforms, and Ecopy lets you test the whole workflow — import, AI rewriting, product pages — without paying anything.

The deciding question isn't which app imports better. They all import fine. It's whether you need a moat around your store, or a cheaper way to build one.
